Higher education may mean different things to different people. However, the central point about HE is that unlike other forms of capital, it transcends mere economic returns. HE returns are the very substance of development and progress, and are difficult to quantify and compare with economic returns (Patel). A society that is educated and informed is better able to make fundamental decisions for itself. Education prepares people to make such decisions more objectively and provides the environment for social and cultural innovation.
Ibn-ul-Qasim Educational Trust, founded in 2002, is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-governmental, Humanitarian and welfare Trust. Ibn-ul-Qasim Educational Trust is an independent organization dedicated to provide facilities for education, science, technology, peace, digital divide, youth development, human rights, medicine and socio-economic development, and welfare of societies without any racial distinction.
Ibn-ul-Qasim Educational Trust has laid down some fundamental rights for humanity as a whole, which are to be observed and respected under all circumstances. To achieve these rights Ibn-ul-Qasim Educational Trust provides not only legal safeguards but also a very effective moral system. Thus whatever leads to the welfare of the individual or the society is morally good in Ibn-ul-Qasim Educational Trust.
A step towards functional and educational metamorphose Trust is proposing the setting up of a University at Multan under the name of Multan University of Science and Technology. The members of the foundation have previous experience of successfully organizing educational institution in Multan. The Sponsors of the projects includes eminent scholars and senior educationist whom have got experience of running institutions of higher learning both in private and public sector. The sponsors have arranged financial commitments amounting to Rs. 30.00 million to invest in the development of the University during its first phase. More commitments for funds are available. A large number of educationist and professionals are supporting the project.
